“Horns” is one of the best songs from Children of Bodom’s most recent album, I Worship Chaos, which is easily one of last year’s best metal records. Vocally, they’re in the death metal ballpark, but you can understand most of the vocals pretty easily, which is something you can’t say about most death metal. Death metal influences aside, the band is also heavily influenced by thrash and “Horns” even includes some little clean — and catchy — guitar solos. It’s not just the guitar solos that are infectious though. Oh, no, no, no, this song is an earworm from the very first few seconds you listen to it, bursting with kinetic energy to get your body pumping out extra adrenaline. If you listened to it all day, it would probably speed up your metabolism so much you’d lose weight without even trying. Worthy of flashing double metal horns for sure.
