#songoftheday / #amlistening = Martin Solveig: “MY LOVE”

French DJ/producer/taste-maker Martin Solveig has just released his punchy new single, “My Love,” today on 6/29/18.  That said, it’s likely that you’ll be hearing it all summer long, especially if you’re doing the Ibiza thing this year.  Afterall, his last single, “All Stars,” ruled Ibiza last summer.  But not just Ibiza; dance clubs around the world couldn’t spin it enough.  It was inescapable.  Not that I was complaining.  I found it to be sugary, addictive ear candy.  Listening to “My Love” on repeat as I write this, it’s becoming clear that it’s just as catchy, if not more so.

The interesting thing about this one is that Solveig performed the vocals himself, whereas he normally employs a stable of famous singers to do his tunes.  His vocals are more than capable and we applaud him for having the guts to put himself out there in that way for a change.

Now, let’s hope the remixes are all four on the floor powerhouses of the irresistible variety.  We’d love to hear R3HAB and Dave Aude put their spin on this.  Just, please, no David Guetta. We need a long vacation from him.  A long, long vacation.  But Martin can DJ at our offices any time he would like.

I usually eat whatever Solveig serves, but this morsel just isn’t all that flavorful.

I agree with the above comment. This one is probably the only thing he’s put out that I strongly dislike. He’s usually so good. Disappointing. He should do another song with Dragonette.
