#songoftheday / #amlistening = LARKIN POE: “BLEACH BLONDE BOTTLE BLUES”

One insanely talented duo that I can’t get enough of is Larkin Poe.  It seems like just yesterday that I interviewed Rebecca and Megan Lovell about their third album, Peach.  Well, the roots rock/soul/blues sisters will be releasing their third album, Venom & Faith, on November 9, 2018.  I’m still listening to Peach regularly, but, hey, I’d rather get a new album from them sooner than later.  I’m especially excited about the Venom & Faith after hearing “Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues,” the infectious first single from the record, which packs a whole lot of attitude that will slice right through you… and it’s infectious, too!

BONUS: Check out their cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman.”  They did a fine job of it, paying tribute to one of their heroes while also lending their own style to it.  Should you like it, you should look them up on Youtube where they post covers like this just about every week.
