#albumofhteday / REVIEW: METRO STATION: SAVIOR (OUT TODAY) + TOUR DATES

Metro Station is back!  Their amazing new album, Savior, is out today!  The band are calling it a mixtape; here’s why: “We’re just calling it a mixtape because; it has a ton of different producers doing each track, we’re selling 18 songs for super cheap and we just felt like it fit that thought concept and spirit well.  We understand mixtapes are usually free, but that line has blurred a bit recently we think.”

Whether you call it an album or mixtape, it’s fan-fucking-tastic!  Seriously, all 18 tracks have killer hooks and could easily be singles.  And they’re all bursting with energy and flavor, perfect tunes for when you’re out driving around or hanging at the beach this summer.  The only problem is, once you listen to it you’re so hooked that it’s hard to pry yourself away and listen to anything else.  You probably think I’m exaggerating but I swear that I’m not.  If you like pop music your heart will skip a beat when you hear this one.  And, yeah, it would be awesome if they were giving it away, but you’re basically getting two albums for the price of one.  (Look at how many artists are releasing 9 track albums lately.)  And for $9.99 (on iTunes) it’s like getting a super deluxe edition album for a regular album price.  But, hey, if you don’t want to buy it you can listen to it on Spotify right here: https://open.spotify.com/album/0hxTyrWcrcBjVPi08WN8FV
