Thank you for the insightful article. It is much appreciated to read a fair point of view. As a long time fan myself, I can only say that Bleu Noir was very welcomed. Her duet with Moby ‘Looking for my name’ in her previous album left me wanting more, and I am glad my wish somehow came true as most of the songs in her Night Blue album were produced by Moby. Few of her songs are sang fully in English, and ‘Light Me Up’ was an excellent take at rythm an blues. Contrary to popularity, I have to admit that ‘Love Dance’ happens to be one of my favorite songs in Monkey Me. A french speaking fan, I can assume that her lyrics were very intentional, the play of words is taken at a very deep level when you think about it (that includes the birthday wish too)… We could also say that the track falls in the category of her light hearted songs…just a humble opinion… Can only hope her next masterpieces will be just as entertaining… Sincerely. Who cares how much Mariah is on the track if it’s hot? I don’t understand why you wasted most of this review on a # and Mariah’s time on it instead of writing about the actual song.
